Write to hello@everyfile.app. I read every message and answer as soon as I can.

Quick answers are in the FAQ on the home page.

Report a problem

In the app, choose Help > Report a Problem … (or the same item in the Everyfile menu). It opens an email with your version and macOS version already filled in. You can also write to the address above.

What to include

  • What you did, step by step, and what you expected to happen.
  • What happened instead (a screenshot helps).
  • Your Everyfile version (Everyfile > About Everyfile) and your macOS version (Apple menu > About This Mac).

Please do not send file names, paths or screenshots of private files. Everyfile never needs them to find a problem.

Crash reports

If Everyfile quit unexpectedly, macOS wrote a report. Open Console.app, choose Crash Reports in the sidebar and look for Everyfile. The files are in this folder:

~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

Attach the file whose name starts with Everyfile and ends in .ips. Crash reports can contain paths on your Mac; open the file in a text editor first and remove anything private.

The app does not open the first time

Everyfile is not notarized by Apple in this beta, so macOS blocks it at first. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll down to the Security section and click Open Anyway next to Everyfile. You only need to do this once.

Search finds too little

Everyfile needs Full Disk Access to see all your files. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, switch Everyfile on (add it with + if it is missing), then quit and reopen the app.

Removing Everyfile

Step by step in the uninstall guide.
